Watch Me Make this Glowforge Project Farmhouse Tiered Tray Mini Signs with Colorful Lemons
This video is a little long, but I take the time to walk you through all of the steps to make all four signs. I’ll speed things up. But you can slow it down if you have to; I love how YouTUbe has that feature!
This set of farmhouse tiered tray mini signs are super easy to create with your Glowforge or any laser cutter or CNC machine.
How My Glowforge Project Farmhouse Tiered Tray Mini Signs with Colorful Lemons Turned Out
For info on how I mask my wood, and more on magnets, check out my Lemon Banner tutorial.
- I didn’t note the 1/4″ birch settings in this video. But you can watch them in the Welcome sign video and use it to get you started with the best settings for your materials.
- I did not get the green part filmed, and a few things I discovered while cutting that I wanted to share with you:
- That darned light tact transfer tape did NOT want to stick to the blank (again, like previous videos). This is the tape I used to use, but it’s been of stock and it’s been what I’ve most been happiest with. I see it’s in stock as I write this. I’ll list the tapes I have been using below in its place.
- My machine was really starting to cut off place. I need to calibrate. To calibrate your Glowforge check out this post.
The adorable little beads with the end tassels are next week’s video tutorial! You will see it also in the small lemon on the top of the tray near the plant and the bottom near the mug!
My tray is from Amazon. I actually spray painted it white. You can find it here*. The mug is a Rae Dunn mug I bought at a local TJ Maxx. The greenery is from Amazon and can be found here*. The cupcake trays and the tiny plant on the top are from Target Dollar Spots.
Products Used in Glowforge Project Farmhouse Tiered Tray Mini Signs with Colorful Lemons
- Lemon Farmhouse Tiered Tray Mini Signs cut files in our shop.
- Adobe Illustrator – You don’t need this, but if you want more control over your vector files I recommend it. Some people use other apps for vector use (Affinity is one some people like)
- Glowforge – I use the Pro model, for a discount, use this link to get up to $500 off your Glowforge when you purchase through it*
- 1/4″ and 1/8″ Baltic Birch. I purchase mine from this guy. If they don’t have in stock shoot him a message and ask when. He’s so great at communicating!
- TransferRite Ultra 582U Medium Tact (I didn’t show this in the video, watch our Lemon banner video to see how)
- Magnets* to hold the Birch flat down on the crumb tray
- Spray Paint Colors by Krylon ColorMaxx (primer + paint): Satin Meringue, Satin Pistachio, Matte Black, Satin White
- Stick Fast CA Thick*
- Denatured Alcohol for cleaning (I’m not sure you can buy this in California though so you are better off buying online). Mine is by Crown (and found at Home Depot in the cleaning section).
Links marked with an asterisk* are affiliate links. I get some sort of payment when you use them. Use them, or don’t. It’s up to you!
